How To Relieve Stress

How to relieve stress is a million dollar question, yet so many of us do very little to lower our stress levels.  We talk about it and maybe once or twice a year, we schedule some vacation time or an extra day off.  The rest of the year, we push through life, ignoring what stress does to our mind and body.

We all have time to get rid of stress in our life but it is easier to keep our self busy, rather than scheduling time and making stress reduction a priority.  We need to make relaxation a priority in our day just like we do eating, sleeping, watching TV or playing on the computer.

Here are some ideas for you to relieve stress.  This is not an exhaustive list by any means.  Please feel free to add ideas that work for you!

 

How To Relieve Stress Through Music.

1)  Listen to music in a quiet location.
2)  Sleep To relaxing ocean sounds at night.
3)  Journal to your favorite song.
4)  Enjoy a bubble bath to relaxing ambient music.
5)  Play Music in the background while you work.
6)  Play music while you cook supper.

 

How To Relieve Stress With Other People

1)  Call a friend.
2)  Give a hug to someone who needs one.
3)  Express your feelings instead of holding them in.
4)  Learn how to say no.
5)  Don’t listen to gossip or spread gossip around.
6)  Say something nice to someone.
7)  Avoid those hot button topics of the day.
8)  Learn how to be assertive and set healthy boundaries.

 

How To Relieve Stress Through Mindfulness

1)  Realize difficult moments in your life, will pass.
2)  Stop and take a deep breath.
3)  Practice mindfulness and become mindful in your day.
4)  Spend some time each day in meditation.
5)  Download and practice guided meditations
6)  Connect with Yoga to help relieve stress.
7)  Use Tai Chi to help center and ground your life.
8)  Practice Qi Gong to keep the energy flowing in your life.
9)  Get a weekly massage to relieve stress.

1)  Find ways to eat healthier that will be less stressful to your body.
